Default New Motherboard for FCB

Has anyone tried the ASUS TUF Sabertooth X58 motherboard with the Storm and FCB combination?

We have used these two together and they worked. We have a lot more trouble with FireCoders and Gigabyte boards.

Do you have the FireCoder already? If not you would actually be better off to buy a Sandybridge motherboard and processor (and EDIUS 6 if you do not have it) as EDIUS used the Intel Quicksync to encode to H264 faster than the FireCoder.

Thanks for your reply David. I Have the FCB already and Edius 6 purchased from you. Unfortunately my Asus P6T has failed after 2 years and awaiting replacement (Gte 3 years) so wondering if they could be persuaded to replace with Tuf Sabertooth. How do you rate the board by comparison with the P6T, particularly as regards the seemingly better slot layout for inclusion of the FCB.

We actually don't use this motherboard much and prefer to use Gigabyte boards mainly because they have more hard drive controllers and a few other small things so I cannot really comment much on the slot arrangements I am afraid.

We mainly use it on systems if someone wants a FireCoder because the FireCoder will not work on our gigabyte boards.

Have had to purchase a new board as no replacement or repair yet, neither can I get any sensible information on situation.
The Sabertooth X58 works well but I have 2 problems that prospective purchasers may like to be aware of -
1. The board has a Marvell SATAIII raid chip, good but it will not interface with the RAID created on the P6T JMB322 chip. Due to an oversight with back-up this has caused some problems.
2. The single PCI slot cannot be used when a large graphics card is used, so in my case I have had to abandon my Adaptec ultra2- LVD SCSI RAID
