I really don't know. All I know is that work is flawless in a HD Storm and in my HD Thunder it sucks big time. The new problem with it is that it jams and crashes, the only way out being restarting the pc. Please help me!

Default My HD STORM is a nightmare!!

Well, I've already requested help here about the blue screens that I often had (about three or four a day, and many more if I kept on going). To no avail. The computer was completely replaced, and yet I'm having the exact same problems. Now EDIUS crashes solely because i'm trying to work!

It simply freezes, completely. I have to force shutdown it and guess what: when I try to reopen the project, when I open another project, even if I create a BLANK project, it freezes again!

What on earth is going on here, and what have I done to be so unlucky that I have deadlines and such a poor platform to juggle them??

I'm sorry if I sound desperate, but this is starting to get serious, and even when replacing the hole shebang doesn't work, this whe I raise my hand in the air for help.

Could you give is us your system spec's and o.s. used ?
Which version of Edius are you using ?
What are your project settings and source footage ?
Why storm works and thunder not ?
Are they in the same system ?
What has changed after it stopped working, software, hardware ?

Have you installed the 6.01 update from 10-28-10? This has many fixes contained within.
Have you removed the HD Storm and tried to start Edius? If it does, reinstall the Storm board and verify that the 6.01 update is installed. If it is not, install it now!!

I'm not entitled to use a 6.01 version unless I pay. I already purchased this system in July.

I don't understand. Version 6.01 is a free update to version 6.0. If you have already paid for version 6.0, just register yourself in Grass Valley website and download version 6.01 and install.

I don't have version 6.0. I have the previous one. I'm stuck with it.

Please send along your computer set up so the knowledgeable folks on the forum can make some informed suggestions.

1Many have asked for your system specs.

2Also which board do you have?
Because you have brought up both the Thunder and the HDStorm?

3 Which version of EDIUS are you running?

It really look like there is something wrong with your system.

You have posted the same issue in two different sections of the forum. It is quite frustrating for us, the guys that could help you, to not have your system specs. How do you expect us to help you? This is getting old. Post your specs!
By not posting your specs it makes me think that you are using a bootleg.

Are you using a bootleg or trial version of Edius? If you have installed Edius 5.x, and registered it, you are able to download all of the updates to Edius 5.51.
This is the version that you should be running if you do own Edius 5.x. This also has the latest drivers for that version and tghe HD STorm.

You were saying in an earlier post that the HD Storm worked fine and the Thunder was the problem. I would take all of the Canopus cards out and start from there.
