Default Windows 7 Service pack & FCB

I installed the Windows 7 service pack 1 and now I can't export via FCB. When I try, EDIUS tells me in red letters "Failed to export". I reinstalled the drivers but still get the message. EDIUS recognizes the card but won't export via FCB. I tried a few different projects and timelines. Same thing.

p.s. If I export CanopusHQ and convert it via Firecoder Writer, that works, so the card seems ok but that is not an option for me. I need to be able to export via EDIUS.

Also, since the windows update, the audio waveform is disappearing like crazy (every 5 minutes).

Any ideas?

Try a system restore from before your courages update :)
Again, lesson learned, do not blindly update.

Any chance you have a HDD image ?

I tried. I didn't do a system restore but uninstalled the Windows update. Still isn't exporting.

Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 have been finalized and released to OEMs. It is entirely possible that is has already been leaked somewhere.

Regardless, I agree, you don't blindly install something as substantial as a service pack, at least not without a backup image of the entire system.

I would check the Windows logs using Event Viewer and see if there is anything in it that could explain the failure to export.

The release of SP1 to OEMs was a very recent development.

It has been documented over the past couple of months on various forums and of course by m$, it is a collection of all past hotfixes with really no improvements other than for remote system administrators.

There is nothing to gain if you use automatic update, surely nothing for a Editing system, and really nothing at all if your system has been running fine !

p.s. system restore often (with me always) fails to work, therefore it is switched off on all my systems, I make use of Acronis (or equivalent), so should all of you ............................

It has been floating around on various Russian sites, when downloading from there make sure you compare the MD5 hash to make sure it hasn't been tempered with !

Better yet, stay away, don't use it.

I downloaded it from the http://windows7forums.com forum, witch is a respected site and I am an administrator there, so tampering wasn't the issue for me.
