Hi Zvit.

While you are waiting to sort out your hardware problem, you may want to use X264 to encode your HQ masters to H.264. It has many options for encoding, including a speed control. Depending on the speed control and speed of your CPU, you can do faster than realtime exports at very good quality, or slower than realtime that produces quality better than the FCB board. If you can't sort out the hardware conflict with FCB, and have to send it back, X264 would be a great replacement and it's free.

Hope this helps.

Dave.

Hi Dave,
This is not a supported motherboard. I can send you a list of compatible and tested motherboards once I'm back in the office.

Please drop and e-mail to the support mailbox and to remind me :)

David, do you use a GUI with it? Which one do you use? StaxRip or RipBot264?
Reading on the Doom forum, it seems like it's not a simple process to use this.

Not sure what time frame we are looking at, but TMPEG 4 Express just announced x264 support in a future build of the program...should make for a freindly to use GUI. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/press/10_1125.html

Regards

Dave.

We use Intel's DX58SO in our builds and these have no such contraptions for cooling....a well ventilated case and environment should be all you need to keep things cool (presumably your not overclocking). However I dont think that your FCB will fit even after this contraption is removed as the main cooling system looks to not give the clearence needed for a longer card in this slot.

The FCB produces pretty good quality... how much better can it get?

Dave.
Hello Dave, is that option in the Priority settings?

Thanks.
