There's some very helpfull employees in the forums but these people don't have a clue about FireCoder Blu. The company needs to hand them out so they can help out. There's no real support for this thing the proper way so I agree with Joe, make a fuss.

Maybe a Grass Valley executive by chance is stumbling over the lousy quality of this Grass Valley product and is streamlining a little bit the development team.

Default Update:MediaRange 6X Media

Same situation- write error - with MediaRange 6X Media.
So again FCB lost compatibility with todays Media.

From reading the posts on this topic, one has to wonder about all the critisism that Adobe receives about product support. Is this not the same in this case? After reading the comments about Fire Coder Blue, I would certainly avoid that product. Bug fixes are an expected and necessary feature of any software sold, without that support (and it has to be quick) the product will die. There have been many critics of the bugs in Adobe and Microsoft products, but is GV any better?

Harro.
My personal opinion is this.

EDIUS, no problem, they support it well, they built it from scratch, they know it, they want it/ NEED IT to succeed.

ADVC products, no problem, no drivers required, good product to begin with! They made a great product to last long long time.

Hardware cards that work with EDIUS such as NX, Spark, Storm, older Rax etc -- mostly good products, always pretty well supported.

Other Hardware products, such as legacy MVR products or FireCoder Blu - they built them once and stacked them on a shelf to sell ragardless of how much work was still required. Got too hard for them or they didn't care for lack of return.

So Grass Valley as a whole is pretty good, it just lets us down continually with a certain type of product.
