Default ADVC 100-Both Input Lights On and Won't Turn Off

I have an ADVC 100, with power supply. Whenever I turn on the device, I am getting a solid blue light on both the digital and analog inputs, as well as a solid red status light. None of these lights ever turn off, no matter how many combinations of unplugging/plugging in cables, changing the DIP switches, or pressing the input select button I try.

I have plugged the device into two different computers, and tried three different firewire cables, including the one that came in the box. None of them are successful in making any of the blue input lights shut off. None of the computers seem to see the device, which I'm assuming is related to the fact that I can't change the inputs. I even tried going analog in and analog out to a stereo to see if anything would happen, and I was getting no signal on the output.

Any thoughts about what might be wrong, or how to fix it? Is the device fried beyond repair?

Fried, likely.
Beyond repair, not sure.

The symptoms you describe is usually the sign of a fried Firewire port/chip. At one point in time we used to do repairs for that, but I'm not sure what the current policy is.

Best to contact Grass Valley Support and see what they say.

Thanks for the help. I called customer support, and unfortunately they said they no longer service the ADVC 100 (even though they still service the ADVC 55?).

In any case, thanks for the help.

That's because the ADVC-55 is still a current product. ADVC-100 was discontinued in 2004.
