Default GrassValley distributing VisTitle??

I placed an order for VisTitle at Safe Harbour a couple of weeks back.

I was enquiring to them about VisTitle 1.5 availability and I just received an e-mail from Thomas (their sales rep) today and he was saying that Safe Harbour was getting VisTitle through GrassValley and that VisTitle is on GrassValley's official price sheet with a GrassValley part number.

Can anybody from GrassValley confirm this and if it is confirmed, does GrassValley plan to offer a special deal like we have been hearing about for EditHD?

Rick

Guess I don't have the latest price list, but I'm not in Sales, so that doesn't surprise me much...

In terms of official confirmation, please contact Grass Valley Sales directly.

If you go to the Vistitle Website you will see that EditHD is the authorized sales point in North and South America.

Yes, VisTitle can be purchased through GV by resellers looking to supply it for their EDIUS v6 customers. However, since it is not a GV product, we don't determine pricing. And buying from GV doesn't impart any discount or value; we sell it for $380 USD in North America. Up until this current sale price was announced, this was the same price as buying direct from VideoStar.

I believe that the current deal up for grabs is only for direct purchase or direct resellers; in this regard, I don't think that GV qualifies, and there are no plans (at least in North America) to offer or extend the current discount deal that is being offered by VideoStar.

EditHD is one of the few resellers that deals directly with VideoStar to source VisTitle for resale--I can tell you for a fact that George is not buying it from GV for resale purposes.

But, I think George is the only one getting the 'extra' discount.
If enough people jump on the deal, they stand to save a significant amount of money on either product.

Whether he is or not is a bit of a moot point becuase he certainly is the only one I have seen to actually advertise that price. All I can say to people is that it is well worth the money at the regular price. Those that complained about not getting any notice for the NAB promo (and it was VERY quick), this is your chance. I have yet to run into anyone that has purchased it and then felt it was not worth the money.

In this case, the more the merrier. After this, there should be no room for complaints about price and having
been notified of the deal.

Thank you all for your input. I didn't know that GV was distributing VisTitle, and I would guess that not very many people knew as well. Now I know and probably many others know about it.

Cheers.....
