Can you export to another format other than H264 or H265? Try exporting to plain mpeg or something like that. See if that works. It could be the way the video devices are setup in the bios of that machine. Let's take Quicksync out of the equation and see what happens.

Just a note. H265 Quicksync hardware encode is not supported by this CPU, and Edius currently only does H265 via Quicksync. You need a 6th gen CPU or higher for H265.

If you need to do H265, you will have to use something like Handbrake to do it.

Yes, I exported the project now to MPEG, which was ok. (although I can't change the preset bitrates into a user specified bitrate)

Ok, thanks for the input. This might explain the H265 issue, but why do I get the same error for H264 output?
Also it ssems strange that Edius can only render hardware accelarated output, whereas for other codecs the software rendering is supported.

is there a reason why layouter is unticked in your timeline screenshot info panel?

you can type any bitrate for mpeg2 export

your mpeg4 export screenshot shows that you are selecting a recently use exporter, can you try a fresh one from the left side, see attached

Hi Anton,
the reason for unqicking is that I used the layouter to sync the cameras. But to make sure that a clip wasnt still decreased in siza I selected all and disabled the layouter.
In the clip you can see that in the Program streasm PEG, I cant change the bitrate. When I type another value, such as 5M (and confirm with TAB) its jumps back to the default setting.

w.r.t. my H264 issue. I was able to solve it, although by accident. Another program that I use now and then (Cyberlink) suddenly wouldnt start with the message: "The entry procedure point not found _crtCreateSymbolicLinkW in the C:/Windows/System32/MSVCP110.dll dynamic link library."
after researching the Internet someone offered a possible solution:
Control Panel > programs and features (Add/Remove Programs) > first look for Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 x 64 > right click > change (not remove/uninstall).
then repeated the same thing for the Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 x 86 version.

This indeed fixed the issue, Cyberlink started again and was working ok. Now I dont know if its related, but now I can also export to H264 in Edius 9 again ...... !
Exporting to H265 is still impossible, but that appears to be caused buy my hardware.

thank you all for your usefull hints and suggestions, Im so glad youre all so active on the forum !!
