Supplement 1 :

If you feel that the Boris Red 5.2.2 occupy the RAM and makes your working slowly. You might install Boris FX 10.0.3 , too.
Although GenArts Sapphire 6.13 supports Boris Red 5.2.2 , but you can copy the relevant plugin folder especially for Boris FX 10, it still works.

My DIY experience:

Locate the plugins from the following folder (under 64bit Windows system):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Boris FX, Inc\BorisPlugins5Common\Sapphire Plug-ins

Copy all plugin file, to the following folder :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Boris FX, Inc\BorisPlugins10Common\Sapphire Plug-ins

Done!

Once you lanuch Edius 6.52, then adopt Boris FX 10 as video filter, you will absolutely find out the GenArts Sapphire 6.13 effects , under Boris FX 10 workflow menu.
And , it's smoother more than Boris Red.

trust me:)

Supplement 2:

My DIY experience ( mine is X64 Windows system ):

The installation utility of Boris Red 5 is not perfect, guides you to incorrect destination !

By default setting, the installation utility installed such plugin to the following path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Boris FX, Inc\BorisPlugins\Sapphire Plug-ins

But under Boris Red 5, indeed it's unacceptable .

Workaround:

Move ( or copy ) the above plugins folder manually , to the following path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Boris FX, Inc\BorisPlugins5Common\Sapphire Plug-ins

Done.

When using Sapphire via Red you can get stability issues. EDIUS can crash, when that happens the Gui of Red disappears.

Just a word of caution. :)

You may want to try things with less than 32GB RAM too.
Though rare, I have had a couple of strange things happen (not EDIUS related) after I took my home machine from 16 to 32GB.
