Default optical flow

So I have a question about the optical flow feature, I dont like so much the look of 4K 30 because it looks jittery. I recently was working on a job where I did shoot a couple 4K 30 shots just to mess around, just messing around I applied the optical flow and it seemed better a little smoother. Other than just needing more horse power to use it. What are the ups and down of applying this to all my clips? Slow or not

Randy

Optical Flow is a high level guess made by the computer to fill in missing frames and make better slow motion. Sometime it looks great, other times it looks crazy. So it will need to be checked each time you use it. It generally works better with little to no camera movement. If you are panning a lot you might get some strange frames as the software does not have a lot of information to work with to make up the frames precisely.

What were your project settings? Must have been different to the clip frame rate otherwise you would not get optical flow. Was your project 60i ? Personally I shoot everything 60P ( 59.94fps ) That will give you smooth motion in a 60P or 60i project and if you really need that juddery look just put the file in a 30P ( or 29.97 P ) project.
Not sure what camera you have but not all will shoot UHD 60P.
