Default Audio fade of main clip during a squeeze

We'd like to create a template where there will be a squeeze of the main clip, and a new clip will be played. During this template the audio level of the main clip must fade to 0, and return to the normal level when the squeeze is finished.
We've created the squeeze effect duplicating the main clip and adjusting the size with keyframes. This is OK. But lowering down the levels on this new template does not affect the levels at all. And if we link the main clip object of the new template (set to “no action) to the external reference, it will not play any sound of the main clip. It throws an error.
Where should we fade audio of the main clip?

Hi Playout.madrid,

Please send me a private message with your email address. I'll then send you an example channel pack.
