Default Subtitles in video

Curious what technology would be good to place subtitles on the bottom of a video? Do I need to get fancy with Adobe After Effects, or fancy text editing somehow. Seems like a huge project. There are some products on the market to do this, such as www.clipscribe.com - but I would love to have this natively inside my editor. Thoughts appreciated. I also have the NewBlue package but don't think that has this.

Vistitle has a great subtitle editor and it works right in Edius. I just did a project with subtitles and it worked fantastic.

Wow thank you! Great software. Curious if you have a service that builds a fairly close subtitle text file for you?

You can do it your self with subtitle edit. There are several threads on the form covering it.

The most recent one I was involved in was regarding using it for a source for closed captioning also.
