Smile 3d - overlapped objects moved back and forth in/out of focus

Hi,
I'm using GV composer to create dynamic menu/up-next templates.

I'm trying to move two (or more) objects from the background to the foreground of the stage, and as one moves forward it comes into focus (blur effect decreases) and while that happens another object, moving backwards, goes out of focus (blur increases).

I added the objects to a group and swtiched off layering, as when one is forward, it overlaps the other and vice versa. However, this seems to switch off the blur (layer effect).

Anyone have any suggestions to get around such a problem?

Cheers

Hi Jimbo,

Effects can only be applied to layers. By default a Group of objects is a group of layers (provided that Layer Objects is enabled), thus each layer can have its own Effect. However, by disabling Layer Objects, all objects become part of the same layer (and 3D space) so the individual layer effects are gone.

Perhaps an option is to keep Layer Objects enabled, thus keep the blur enabled and let the background object (which moves to the front) be taken over by an identically looking object which is on top (in terms of stacking order).
