Default Converting EZP file from Edius5 to Edius4

Hello

Is there any way to convert an EDIUS edit file from program version 5 to version 4 ? I didn't expect the files to be that different but version 4 refuses to recognise a version 5 EZP file.
Using the other Export/Import options (e.g. EDL) would probably not contain all the information that the EZP file contains.

Any advice much appreciated,
hokoall

P.S.: In case you wonder why I need to do this: I run Edius4 on my desktop as I am still using a StormDV card for capturing a lot of old analogue video footage as well as using it for monitor output during editing. My laptop now runs Edius5 where I stupidly started a project before checking that I can revert back to the desktop (which is more convenient to work with).

Sorry, but I think you are out of luck on this one.

As Pat said... there is no official way of doing this. I have not heard of an un-official way either.

Hello

Thanks for the responses so far, though not much encouraging they are.
I had a brief look this evening to find differences between the v4 and v5 EZP files. A couple of interesting details, though not much use for me, came to light:

- EZP files are actually ZIP archives containing two (v4) or three (v5) files;
- contents of the archived files (at least those that appear similar by name) is similar but not identical, even for an empty project.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to dive into this further (it would be fun, no doubt) so will probably have to stick with v5 for this one project and be more careful which version I use in future.

I have a hunch that I might not be the only user with this issue, so if there is an easy way for Edius programmers to provide a conversion tool that would be great.

Happy editing...

Out of curiosity, why would you want to go from 5.x back to 4.x? To what advantage?
