Are you burning directly to disc from the timeline, or are you burning to files for disc?

It is usually better to do the latter, and use Image Burn or Nero to burn those files to disc.

The native disc burn function within Edius can be problematical. The other programs yield better and more dependable results as I have learned over the years from The Edius Oracle, Anton!

EDIUS does not have a burn engine, it uses the native Windows burn engine which can be as useful as an empty bottle of beer

first you make sure you use a DVD-R disk and check its speed rating, if 8x, burn at 6x or less, do not let EDIUS use the auto speed setting as this often burns at 16x when disk is only rated at 8x

ideally, as mentioned, just create the image and then burn it with Nero Burning Rom or ImgBurn (free)
