I use CCleaner on all my systems and I can report that for me it has never created a problem for the past 10+years.
I can also report that 8.31 works fine.

From experience I would blame most Edius / Browser issues towards AV present during installation.
Edius is a bit sensitive with AV software (during installation) but if a system is properly installed and maintained, Edius is Rock solid and stable on every system I have installed it on, past and present.
