Default Encoding Times

Installed a FCB in an older Core Duo machine with Edius 7.53 and Windows 10.

Before the FCB, encoding HD 2 hours from the timeline took about 9 hours.

With the FCB, it is now about 5 + hours.

Is there anything I can do to increase FCB encoding speeds with settings, etc., other than upgrading the CPU? Or, is FCB even dependent on CPU speed?

Also, I normally use Nero to burn discs. Is there any advantage to learning and using the FireWriter software included with FCB?
