When it boots, how much ram is showing and at what speed. Is it 1866 or 1600? Is the battery still in the socket on the motherboard?
If you set the buffer to 512 your reading should be 127 or 128...

Anton, I don't think it is a bios setting, unless the battery came out of the slot during shipping. I know those were the first things that were adjusted while George had the machine.
