Converting Canopus AVI to MOV - Anything quicker than timeline re-export?

I've converted HQX AVIs to MOVs via a timeline re-export. (Re-import, add to timeline, reexport as MOV. Repeat.)

The export is quick and appears lossless, so I'm assuming there's no re-encoding...

FFS, I wouldn't have installed the trial had I known the output would be useless.

This wasn't the case when I went from 6->7 and 7->8. Hence, it never occurred to me to read the fine print.

Any drawbacks to rewrapping MXF files to MOV?

I'm using a utility (Kyno) to transfer Canon MXF files from a CFast 2.0 card to my hard drive. The utility lets me designate subclips within the much larger files, then performs the transfer without...

Regarding markers and range selections: I'd received a response about a year ago, when Mync was still called "GV Browser", that these functions were forthcoming and on the feature request list.

Codec Pack reportedly not working with Final Cut X

The Codec Pack for MacOS apparently doesn't work with Final Cut Pro X (10.3.3). Clips I've shared with a mac user produce black screens when paused in the timeline, and blanks on output. Davinci...

Mac Compatibility with the Canopus Codec?

I see there's a free Mac distribution version of the Canopus HQX Codec.

Will installing this on a Mac allow Premiere, Resolve or FCPX read HQ/HQX files?

Must they be MOVs, or do both MOV and...

Strategies / Tips for Reframing 4K?

I've got a lot of UHD footage that I'll be dropping into an HD timeline. Most of this will be cropped / zoomed / panned. I'm assuming I'll be using the layouter to do this, but I'm wondering if...

Hm. Thanks for the feedback.

I'd been looking at this white paper about DNxHD, listing a range of supported framerates, Mbps, etc. (see the attachment.)

I'd just assumed they'd all be...

DNxHD Questions

Two questions about DNxHD (I'm in WG 8.2):

1) When I select print-to-file, the only DNxHD options I'm seeing are the MXF/GXF exporter plug-ins. Are those what I should be using?

2) When I...

Leaving "ROI" optimization turned on seemed to help a bit, as did seeing a ground up explanation.

One thing that made a HUGE difference for me, and that you might call-out for...

That would be great. I'd like to think I could get usable performance out of TP4 without having to upgrade anything. We'll see.

8.1 Licensing Hiccup - Why was I just prompted for Serial & Edius ID?

I checked the GV License Manager, and it listed me as having 2 permanent licenses (7.5 and 8.1WG.)...
