HQX / HQ load on system query

I'm dealing with a bunch of crashes in Edius 9.4 on an HD 60P project. I'm wondering if converting the .MTS files to HQ or HQX will take some "stress" off the timeline performance until I can figure out the system problem. People have suggested that my Quadro P1000 might be the problem, it's drivers are up to date, but I had no crashes until I updated to 9.4, just don't know if another card might fix the problem so I'm trying to reduce "stress' on my time line for now.

Since no one finds this thread worth commenting on perhaps it should be deleted. I will report relative to my crashes in 9.40.4896 that since I started converting my 1080 60P files to HQX the timeline is much more stable and I haven't had a crash using that format which is my workaround for the time being.

Working in the native 60P I'm still getting sluggish performance after the latest update.

Maybe very few other people are running into that problem, so not much to comment on. Plus there seems to be several threads that you discuss this problem. Maybe there are no additional replies.

Like I said, perhaps delete thread as it seems to serve no purpose. I'm just gonna have to figure this out for myself.

The latest upgrade helped the sluggishness in multicam mode after the initial 9.4 upgrade, I encountered. I would try proxies. I use (large) proxies for my UHD camera only and it really is virtually unnoticeable during the edit.

I also had frequent crashes after the first upgrade and reverted back to 9.31 a few times. After the 3rd or 4th re-install of 9.4, the crashes stopped. The sluggish performance in multicam remained until I upgraded to the latest version.

My 2 cents. Working with 9.40.4896 on a heavy project it is not stable and crashes while Edius 8 stays very stable. For simple light projects and conversion, Edius 9.4 is stable and gives a very beter MP4 result.

After reducing my display res about 25 % and reverting back to 16-bit audio my timeline is more stable with native 1080 60P. Still a little sluggish but so far no crashes. Because I'm so far into my project I don't want to uninstall Edius or do any system rollbacks. I'll have to look into another video card later, but for now I can at least edit (so far). I may also change project settings to interlace and reset to 60P for final export.

you can't change interlaced to 60p prior to export

you could edit 60p in a 60i project and stay in 60i for the export

I don't find EDIUS making use of Nvidia's GPU at all. Intel's GPU - yes - but not nVidia's. For laptops - we have a choice of selecting between Intel's and nVidia's GPU - but for desktops - I am not sure.

Thanks, I figured that out about the export when I sought to alter the project settings, no problem. With the project settings I've altered relative to audio and reducing my display res the system has become more stable. Did not have a crash yesterday working in 60p. It still works more smoothly if I work with HQ or HQX files. I'm getting areas that need to be rendered more often than in the past so my realtime performance with this system are weakened somewhat. Probably need an additional hard drive and better video card.
