How to set up onbaord and discrete graphics

I am trying to set up my new computer to run with a monitor on the Nvidia and one on the onboard card so I can use Quicksync.

Does anyone know a link to a how to for dummies?

I can get the on board to work or the Nvidia but not both at the same time.

Also I tried to export using the hardware encoder but the box is not there so I assume somehow I have things incorrectly set up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the bios find the setting which makes sure the built-in graphic card is on all the time. It is normally set to be disabled when you plug in a discreet graphic card.
The plug the main screen (right hand) into the nvidia and the second screen into the onboard graphic slot and it should work.
I have only tested this using Windows 7 myself - it may be different on XP. If it is a new machine I assume you are using Windows 7.

Thank you David. I have it working now. I had not installed the correct drivers. All is well now.

I am totally blown away by this system. I have the 3770k on AsusP8Z77-V motherboard. 32GB 1600 ram. SSD C drive. An external raid 0 video storage setup. No overclocking.

What a difference coming from an old slow quad core Q6600.

The system takes 12 seconds to boot from off to usuable desktop.
