Edius 5 Buffer Overrun Issues
1 Attachment(s)
EDIUS 5 will crash randomly. When I debug the edius.exe, I get "A buffer overrun has occured in EDIUS.exe which has corrupted the program's internal state."

I know you guys are not programmers but who ever sees this from the Canopus side, please deal with it. It's usually an issue with unbreakable loops and unreferenced NULL objects.

What exactly are you doing there when this buffer overrun happen? What version of EDIUS 5 are you testing?

It can happen at any moment. Sometimes it happens while scrubbing footage, sometimes while I'm eating lunch and not touching the program.

I'm using 5.12

have you installed bonus programs such as izotope

if so, the original izotope files that came with edius5 were problematic, this was fixed in later bonus download updates

zvit 08-21-2009 01:40 PM

Yes I have. I will go to the site and update it and see if it helps.

zvit 08-21-2009 01:48 PM

I don't understand. The version I had on disk says its 5.01 and the update from the site says v1.21

antonsvideo 08-21-2009 02:04 PM

which site are you visiting?

I meant the GV site where you login with your UN and PW

zvit 08-21-2009 10:39 PM

Oh, I went to

I think I already have the latest version from GV site but I'll check again.

Yes, I have 5.01

I'll try getting rid of it if you say some had problems with.

antonsvideo 08-22-2009 09:24 AM

something is wrong here, izotope installer version is 1.01 (build 649)

5.01 is an old Edius version (there were problems), the current version is 5.12

5.01 is my izotope version, not my Edius version. My Edius version is 5.12

Actually, you are right though... I see now that the izotope is NOT version 5.01 but was MADE for Edius v5.01 (attached image) and the filename is iZotope EdiusVST_501.exe

Anyway, it's the latest update on the GV site as you can see in the attached image.
