Hybrid drives and Samsung SSD?
 

I am planning a new PC and will go for a SSD boot drive, probably a Samsung Evo. I understand that the Pro version is the best, but how close does the Basic version come in performance terms?

For media I am considering a hybrid drive. Is this a good idea, or should I stick to a regular HD?

I have been using the Samsung Evo pro drive for sometime now and I would recommend it.

Hybrid drives only hold the last 8G of used data in the memory and are really only useful if you are constantly opening and closing programs as per a system drive
I have one in my laptop and it is certainly faster than the original 5400rpm drive, but I am considering upgrading it to an SSD and Win 7(64) it only has Win 7(32)
You would be better off adding a RAID system, I run 3 of 2x2G (4G) disk raid on my system and is more than adequate
I had three sets for Multicam one raid set for each camera but have found I can run all three from a single raid without problems
Stay with a normal drive system but SSD for system, great
