PC Graphics Card recommendation ?
I've specced out an excellent PC for HD editing, the component details of which I will list in this thread if requested, but basically it's an i7 (with 3 bios profiles - stock speed, 3.55ghz, and 4.0 ghz). However, the missing piece of the specification is the graphics card. The choice out there is mind-boggling, but all the reviews seem to be aimed at gamers, and I don't use the PC for games (not interested really).

So, I'm looking for a PC graphics card recommendation that will guarantee a flicker-free HD video editing and playback experience. What do you guys use, and what factors did you take into account when making your choice ?

Many thanks in advance for the benefit of your experience and expertise.

Best Regards

I use the same nvidia chipset as John the GTX260, very good card for the price, but if I was going to get a card today I would get a Fermi 460/465 very close to the same price point but alot more cores, which would make a difference for use with GPU processing.

I will go for GTX 480, I think it will be good both for Edius and CS5 bundle. I also made a homework, so I recommend Zotac GTX 480 AMP! Edition card, this one comes with non-standard Zalman 2-fan cooler and according to WEB, it is amazingly cool *approx 30 degrees then others and factory overclocked too, also Zalman cooler is surprisingly quiet... Yes, it is more expencive (approx $60 more), but you will be happy in case you have PSU 700 watt or more.
