ignite flare FX

I just installed ignite in Edius 9- wondering if you can add motion to lens flares in the free plugin version. Looked at the settings but saw no movement keys.

Also look at Hitfilm Editor- gee did they just try to make it look like Edius- nice little interface they have even in the free version.

Bluff Titler can create flares that you can animate in or out of the prog.
The lack of Keyframing in Ignite is a real Bummer.
I looked at HitFilm and then saw all the add ons that "added on" rattling the wallet...OUCH. No such thing as a FREE lunch.

well, in reality, Ignite offers a counter-intuitive, basic keyframing.

hoping images speak a better english than mine, here a little "custom made" example

You can animate in Ignite, but it is not very obvious and is a bit limited. To animate any parameter click on the circle next to the name and adjust it. Then move through the clip and adjust it again.

If you have the parameter selected the line at the bottom of the screen will have small blue dots where the keyframes are. You can use the arrows to jump between keyframes and the dot in the middle to add or delete them.

You cannot adjust the interpolation between keyframes and even seeing the little blue marks is quite hard.

I am using the full version rather than the free version.

HitFilm full is not too expensive at about 260 and you don't need to buy any add-ons. However, I have tried editing it in for effects heavy projects and it is not a patch on EDIUS. It is still an effects program with a bit of editing.

I don't know what the free interface looks like, but the Ignite Pro 2017 interface does have keyframing.

It is keyframing, but not to the extent that I would like. There are no individual resets, and keyframing points are too small to tell. If I need full keyframing capabilities, I turn to After Effects.

You can get basic animation out of Ignite Pro 2017 when using Edius. For complicated animations I would use Ignite Pro within either AE or Hitfilm Pro.

I should have typed "useable" Keyframing. I think we are all agreed in practice, it is beyond NAFF, hence I tend to ignore it's existence. Bluff is such a useful tool for not a lot of bucks.

Thanks, I just not doing enough editing these days to know all this stuff or even the programs that work best!

I was wondering if you could add an alpha matte to the timeline and use landscaper to effect movement. There's just so much I don't know how to do in Edius- like create an alpha matte and how to use it.
