How to retrieve a Mync storyboard ?

Hello,

After a Windows and Edius reinstallation, I'm unable to find my last Mync storyboard. Do you know the extension of the files managed by Minc ?
Perhaps I will be able to find it.

Mync's information is all in a database found here:

C:\Users\david\AppData\Roaming\Grass Valley\Mync

There is a .db file which has everything. If you deleted the files in the GV user directory when you re-installed you will have lost it.

I consider that this .db in a hiden directory is really dangerous. Finally, Mync is a completely temporary way of working.
When I made the Edius upgrade, I deleted involuntarily my last work.
But before this upgrade, I tried an export to Edius, just to test it, and just retrieved it.

That directory (also known as %APPDATA%) is the usual directory where applications store their data. It may be not obvious, but it's definitely not hidden.

APPDATA is hidden on my machine. I always turn off the option to hide hidden folders anyway but it is hidden by default. Apart from backing up the database though, you don't really want users fiddling with this stuff. There is not a lot else a user can do with the database file other than delete by accident.

I did send off a feature request to add the option to back up and restore the database.

%APPDATA% is not hidden on my machine (it does not have the hidden attribute set), but maybe I removed that attribute in the past, OR Windows Explorer has a list of directories it hides (and I switched that off).
Anyway: The database seems to be in SQLITE format, and with the application you can do quite a lot with it (if you want to invest the time). For example you could export all the data to recreate the database at a later time. Actually I found that Mync already created backups in the Backup directory.
