you can install it as a standalone on any PC that does not have EDIUS (any version) installed

it comes with EDIUS 8.32 and that is the only way to have it on the same PC as EDIUS

I found that out as it will not install on the PC I have EDIUS 6.08 on or EDIUS 7 either. Sad that I can install on a PC with nothing I assume. I have come to like using the Browser for family stuff makes sorting easy. No use for my projects though as they are simple 4 camera with just 8 clips for the total 2 hours. No sorting needed.

AFAIK, Mync Basic is a free download and can be installed as a standalone. This is free for a few months.

Mync Standard which has a few more options is the one that is supplied with Edius.

I am not sure if Mync Basic will install on a system that already has Edius on it, if you remove GV Browser first?

NO it will not install if EDIUS other than 8.32 is present without uninstalling EDIUS. At least that is what the window told me when I tried to install on my PC with 6.08. That of course did not have Browser so no conflict there. I would just like to use instead of PlayMemories.

For versions other than 8, You might try uninstalling EDIUS, install Mync standalone and then reinstall EDIUS. This is strictly unofficial, and I have no idea if it will really work. Try at your own risk.

I think I will just use the version on my main editor and export the files if needed.

Why the restriction if you have Edius already installed?
I though it was meant to work in conjunction with Edius?
What is the point of just the browser on it's own/

It's a bit like Adobe saying you can install Bridge but not have Photoshop installed!

It works with the version of EDIUS it comes with.
