This sounds great. Which is better 1 or 2? Any other suggestions of where else to get royalty free music?
I work for a newspaper and we need music for web casts (sports, features, news) and video advertisements. -
You might want to look into Stack Traxx for music for your niche.Jerry

As Jerry suggested, get both. I received an email today that stated they had less than 25 remaining. It seems they are discontinuing this in favor of the Stack Traxx. The Stack Traxx are broken down into the different tracks that make up the song (percussion, lead, harmony, etc.) which allows you to customize the song to your liking.
The Back Traxx are single songs come in predefined lengths (:10, :15, :30, :60 and the full length which is usually around 3:00). I can't really say that one vol is better than the other.Comment

Never understood why GV wouldn't work together with SmartSound, SmartSound said in an email to me that they would be happy to create a plugin like Quicktracks that could be used in Edius, but GV won't come to the party. I hope one day...

Ok so we were approved to get this product but now it looks like I have missed the sale. Does anyone have a set of these they are no longer using and wish to sell? Or any suggestions of where to purchase a similar product for a similar price.Comment

Smartsound have a sale on at the moment, 12 disc's for $249 which is great value, I think Smartsound is a bit better product, you also get a free copy of Sonicfire Pro 5 when you purchase the 12 Disc set, This is the link.

I have to say that have used both and I like the DJ stuff better. You might try and call DJ and see if they have any morre of the Back Traxx since I do not see them listed as a product anymore. I did see quite a few of the newer Stack Traxx on ebay for $10-15 each. You could get qute a bit more than the Smartsound offer for the same money.Comment

Royalty free - the small user way...
I buy virtually everything from http://www.shockwave-sound.com/ as I can buy by the track. You can also download as many preview tracks as you like.
I now use the preview tracks as a crafty watermark until a client has paid in full for the video - the preview track doesn't get switched to the licensed track, so they invariably pay sooner rather than later (I don't have any clients illegally using the previews either).
If you are doing regular projects their affiliate scheme is great too.Comment

I'm sure you've fulfilled the music need you had in December, but, I've used this site for a few projects: www.twistedtracks.com.
They also have some specials right now:
Royalty free music and sound effects that fire up your soundtrack without burning a hole in your budget...in MP3 and uncompressed AIF and WAV formats, with intuitive search capabilities to find the right one fast.
Cheers!Comment
