  • Xplode with Edius v5

    Hello,

    Today I installed Edius v5.
But the problem now is that my Xplode effect don't work.
Even after I reinstalled Xplode v4.0 it didn't work.
    Can someone help me!!
    thanks!

Xplode is not supported in EDIUS v5. In theory, virtually all Xplode effects now have a GPUfx equivalent.

In theory, but I think I found the effects.
But now I have an other problem.
I'm not able to capture movies anymore with DVStorm.
I installed it and rebooted my computer, but nothing works.
I can't capture in any other way,
So can someone tell me how I can make this DVStorm work?

      Thank u very much!
      Dumbie

Ohci port of your motherboard or seperate ohci card.
Or and upgrade to NX, SP or Hd storm

                I think I own a OHCI port-card.
I have this DVstorm bay in front of my computer from Canopus.

                So this isn't good enough?
I don't know that much about the hardware :)

Otherwise my only option is to buy another bay from canopus??
Or install V4 again, but that would be a shame of the money.

                thanks again guyz!!

                  dumbie2006, you have few options
                  - you may use fireware connector on your motherboard (not the one with Storm card) with Edius 5, Xplode will not work.
                  - you may return to 4.61 version- evreything will work, this is the most stable and "bug-free" version after 4.0, enjoy it, Edius 5 will be same "Bug-free" not very soon... Still waiting for 3D in layout tool and alpha support, maybe at NAB?
-there are some registry "tricks" in Internet, that make Xplode "think" that it works with Edius4.x, of course not suuported, I do not think they are worth trying... especially if you are on Vista.
Asus P8P67, Intel i7 2600K working at 4.50 Ghz, 16Gb Kingston RAM, Windows 7 64bit, 500Gb system drive, 320Gb Data drive and 1TB RAID-0 for AV, Edius NX Express, EVGA nVidia GTX 570 2.5CB DDR5, 750w ALTEC power and some creativity...

The Storm has been discontinued for years now and with the new move to Vista the cost was going to be to much to justify for a dead product.

I would suggest looking at the HD Storm with the Breakout box. You can get $300 US off of it if you own another Grass Valley Hardware product.

This is good through Dec. 31st

Just so it is clear, the 4pin firewire on the Storm card and the StormBay in the picture is NOT the same as your PC's OHCI. It is unique to Storm.

                        Marker in/out slider not visible

thanks for all the answers guyz. I must buy a firewire card.
Than I will be able to capture (this is a OHCI-card, right?)

But I have a different question, while experimenting with Edius 5
                        I saw the following.
I haven't got the time-slider for setting in/out. (pointed with the red arrow)
Can I set this to "ON" somewhere?

I've read the manual but I'm not able to find it quick.
                        thanks!!

Your image is too small to see but if you want an in and out point, just use the keyboard shortcuts I and O

dumbie2006, you better check your computer- most of today's motherboards coming with firewire built-in already. Maybe you will find it on your computer...

Yeah, I thought so, but I don't have one.
But on my previous computer I had one, but every time when I recorded with this Firewire and my Edius V4, when I pushed the stop-button to stop recording, the complete movie stopped. That was very annoying, I hope that V5 will fix this problem.
                              thanks for the help!
