Voxengo Elephant is a mastering limiter plug-in. The most remarkable feature of this brickwall limiter is its ultimate transparency. Unlike many existing limiters, it does not adjust the dynamic structure of the processed audio material, but instead brings sound limiting and loudness maximization without any audible "pumping" effects.

With the release of version 2.0, Elephant became a highly competitive mastering product. It features a comprehensive set of level metering tools and a variety of limiter algorithms. Elephant's built-in linear-phase oversampling is a new standard in peak limiting and loudness maximization. Wow, Silky smooth at +6dB sounds awesome on dialog, might actually give my TL Audio & TC electronics VST's a run for it's money !

For those that are thinking of using this free VST plug-in, there are two technical points not mentioned in OP:

• Similar to all other VSTs this one has 1024-sample delay (SS had 4096 samples delay). At 48KHz that translates to 21mS (NTSC frame is 33mS and PAL is 40mS). If for whatever reason you put two or more of those filters on the same file your delay will be over one frame and it will continue to grow for each filter you add.
• Be aware that this installation setup is a demo version. Every 45 seconds for half a second it will insert a 300Hz tone into your audio.
