I exported from edius in aaf, but just the amount in After Effect, closes the application.
Can somebody explain to me step by step how to do?
And then the second question: how aaf exports from after effects?
Thank you

There is a misconception that Edius is weak for documentary work...this is absolutely wrong. Nearly all my work is documentaries or documentary-style information films. I use Edius exclusively, and my films have won many awards, been in many festivals, and excerpted on TV, so Edius totally fits documentary filmmaking...long form as well as short-form.
I just completed an 18 minute piece and the one before that was an hour-long. The speed is quite the thing, with rendering only needed occasionally if I use multiple 3-D keyers for a special need...I continue to work in Edius 3.62 and Storm, so, yes I am using SD resolution (although I shoot in HDV and down-rez).
I am eager to see what version 5 brings as I contemplate stepping up to a new system (currently I use a 3.0 P4). I am under some pressure to move to FCP since my son (a 25-year old!) uses FCP exclusively and is eager to swap projects with me so we can work back and forth. If there is an easy solution to doing this without jumping ship, that's what I want!!

You could buy a Mac Pro with bootacamp and use Edius 5 on the Windows side. You also can put FCP on the Apple side so that projects can be swapped. Apple to Apple, Edius to Edius. Files are not seen by each other. I do believe that there is a way, but I do not know the name of the program that allows that.
You might want to PM StormDave about it.
