  • Titler Pro 7 Crashing Edius Pro X! Help please

I've been using Titler Pro 7.8.22111 in Edius Pro X since last November without issues.

I just updated to Titler Pro 7.9.230907 but it crashes Edius Pro X 10.34.12119 in a new project and/or Edius X won't open a project that contains any existing TP titles. I uninstalled TP 7 and Edius X runs fine, all projects open and all functions work perfectly, albeit that the TP 7 titles show as missing media. But Edius doesn't crash with TP 7 uninstalled.

I re-installed 7.8.22111 and the same crashing problems persist.

My current projects are all now stalled and dead in the water until this resolved.

    My computer is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz
    Installed RAM 48.0 GB
    NVidia GeForce RTX-1080

    How to fix this?

    Thanks!

I have been using TP 7.9 on Edius X, Premiere Pro 2023, and Resolve 18.5 on the same machine without any issues.
I would start a new project and test several templates within that project.
I've included a video of TP 7.9 using the Elastic timeline. The setting is a 10bit 1920x1080 59.94p project. The media used is a 10 bit 3840x2160 59.94 clip.

        Thanks Anton for your reply.

See EdiusSystemReport in this Google Drive folder. It was too big to attach.

Only Windows 10 update available is Optional Quality Update: 2023-08 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KIB5029331). Should I install that?

            yes, install the optional update

I notice you have Malwarebytes running, be sure you exclude all 3 Grass Valley folders and the NewBlueFX folder in program files

also, check device manager for missing motherboard drivers, you have two missing, see attached

I have a couple of questions:
1). Did you have the NB OFX BRIDGE/TP7 combo installed prior to installing TP 7.9?

2). Are you running any other NB software on your system?

If you have either or both of the 2 items mentioned and continue to have problems, I would uninstall TP 7.9 and uninstall the NB OFX Bridge/7.8 free program.
Then go into the registry and remove all entries of NB.
                Now reboot.
                Install TP 7.9 and reboot.

                See how that works.

Although the new version "NewblueFX Titler Pro Ultimate 7.9.230907" does not crash my system or projects, Newblue has re-introduced the same error, that all 7.x-versions exept(!) the 7.8 have: transparent areas have a grey tint. You can show it easily by creating a rectangle with a transition from fully transparent to a defined color. The comparison with the 7.9-version (see below) shows what I mean. It is exactly the same project with the same title.

Could you PM me the .nbtitle. If I can confirm this I will pass the info along to the engineers.

Take a look at the screenshot. I'm not seeing any grey areas in the alpha portion. I do see the faded
blue of the main color which is expected.

Since the .nbtitle-File of a small rectangle has the size of 183 kb, while the file limit of this forum is 19.5 kb, it is not possible to upload it.
However, it it not necessary, because you can simply reproduce it just by adding a rectangular form whith a color transition containing transparency.

I tried to explain the problem to newblue directly last year (mailing with Steven Sadler), but it was absolutely disappointing. He did not provide a solution,
he did not answer my question, if he (or the programmers) tried or could reproduce the error.
The bundled Newblue-Titler-version for Edius-X has the same bug. But when I found out, the commercial 7.8 Ultimate (221111) would run fine,
I bought it and wrote it to Steven.
Then I received a (probably automatic) question-mail, if I would be satisfied with the solution.
But there was no solution, he did not even try to confirm it. All other people (as well as the Edius-user) still have a faulty version!
No, I was not satisfied, and the support-reaction wasn't professional.
But today, the new Ultimate 7.9.230907 has the bug as well. Tested on two completely different systems (1x Edius 9, 1x Edius X).
I recovered my systems with a clean backup to 7.8.221111, and everything is running fine again (certainly I miss the new templates).

                        Hi Jerry,
thank you for reproducing the bug. You have a quite compressed transition, but the gray area can easily be seen. If you want to see it better, stretch the transition and compare with the Titler 7.8 result.
