SO here is the user experience.
Install seems to go well, Edius immediately requests an upgrade, timing I guess.
I try out the new effects, thanks Vitascene, and the stabilizer, not as nice as Mercalli but faster maybe. Slo mo is nice
Next day I open a show I need to make some outtakes of:
This show has a series of titles made in TP5, when 7 was too buggy to take seriously on Edius 9..
Well it seems 7 is even crazier on Edius X
First I try to step through and check the titles, as I touch them up things are changing on other titles, even logos ended up in the wrong place. They were all fine when I started. Then I remove all the old titles from the job, annoying, and create two templates for the sponsor and the subject, Save them to the Library.
This goes well. Now I create a new title, drop one of the templates on the new title and go to change the name and title,…. The world seizes up, click wait, type wait, eventually I check box out of TP7. Other windows apps on the machine seemed fine, no delays. Oh the timeline is locked, can’t do anything,” close all open dialog it says. Where? I alt tab, check the task bar, close all of Edius but the last window, no open dialog box, Have to kill Edius in Task manager. Trying to work through, this happens three times. I know killing in task manager is surely going to lead to a problems. And it does. Now even if EdiusX Opens a blank project, create new title, Title creates but no Titler Pro opens ever.
Uninstall Reinstall same. Again, same. Clearly TP does not completely uninstall, as I can still see my templates in the library when reloaded.
Now I get license errors on the edius X side so I have uninstalled it all.
A lot of time is lost here, I have rolled back to edius 9 and titler 5 which although clunky, works.
A lot of time wasted here, is there a fix or should we pursue a refund.?
Machine is updated windows 10
16G Ram
RTX2060 with6 g Vram
SSD’s for C drive and editing. System otherwise stable, stable in Edius 9 with TP5
The user forum is not what it used to be.
