Thanks for your help and all the time you spent on this, I used your radical solution and uninstalled paint and, now everything opens with Affinity. This is interesting that these two good alternatives to Adobe can work well together!
Maybe that can help you and those who often works with still image with bad resolution, this saved me a lot of time, this not yet added to Affinity. Artificial intelligence scaler free and opensource : Upscayl.

@ the op. Yes I am able to open the images with Affinity.

I asked QA to look at your report.
According to our QA department this is a bug in the Microsoft Photo application. It is happening in both Windows 10 and 11. (already reported and listed)

    Reason:
After a Windows Update is executed, the registry of application associations for still image files may become corrupted for some reason.

    Proposed Solution:
Perform a reset in the advanced settings of the still image related applications in the Control Panel . Reinstall Affinity and reassociate the filetypes with Affinity.

If that does not fix it please report back.

If you want to try this my personal recommendation, use at you own risk. :)

    Press WIndows key + I
    Click apps
    go to optional features
    search for Microsoft paint
Click on it and choose uninstall.

If you had correctly told windows to open jpeg tiff and such with Affinity they will correctly open.

So could you open these files from the timeline in Affinity ? I has the same problem with Affinity 1 on another PC, maybe the problem come from the order I installed my sofware? Next time I will install Affinity before Edius and Photoshop.

    Hi,
Sorry for the delay. The pictures are in the link below. When I open them from the timeline, it opens MsPaint, the files are linked to Affinity in the explorer. I tried with TGA and PSD files, it opens with Affinity. PSD could be an alternative but some Affinity content is lost with this format. For the tif files wich is the most interesting for me, when the extension is tiff, I can't open it from the timeline, if it is tif, it opens MsPaint. Thanks.

Strange . I have no issues opening files saven in psd, tiff or tga by Affinity. Can you please save a file as you normally do and share it so we can have a look?

I tried tif, jpg, png. I associated them using the "Open With" dialog of Windows 10, maybe this is not the best method. The image files were linked to Photoshop CS5 before I installed Affinity.

In what format have you saved the images? EDIUS won't open Affinity files so presumably you have saved it as a different format?

Unfortunately, there is no direct support from EDIUS. Affinity has not been very helpful in our inquires.

Hi, I am using Affinity photo to edit pictures for Edius. In Windows X, I linked picture files to Affinity but when I open it from Edius (editing function from the Timeline), it open it in MS Paint... But when I link them to Photoshop or Gimp, it works correctly.
    Anyone can help me ?
