Excellent Plugin for Background Noise Reduction

Yesterday, I picked up the Waves Clarity Vx plugin. This EASY to use plugin does some incredible things.

My use for the plugin is for voiceovers in which I need it to knock out AC, Ceiling fan, and Computer fan noise.
The clip I used has a lot of wind. It really surprised me.

Let me add that the plugin uses AI to make things work.

I have to echo what Jerry said about this. I tried it on a dirty recording that I had for an audio test that I made with lots of ambient sounds and it sorted it perfectly. Needless to say, I bought it. Jerry's video is a great example of combating wind wind which is usually an impossible nightmare and fix for videographers. This plugin is simply amazing. For any of you that shoot on site and have to use that audio (no ADR), this is a must $30 buy.

I think the EDIUS X support of WAVES audio effects is one of the unsung features that people don't talk about enough.

it should work but remember to check lip sync because only EDIUS X has VST delay compensation

I have Clarity Vx working in Audacity, but nor in E9.52. The WaveShell1... .dll file is in the Edius VSTplugins folder. Any suggestions?

I gave up on trying to get waves plugins to work in Edius. They are supported in Edius X but never were in older versions due to the waveshell.dll as far as I can determine. The waveshell.dll is a plugin wrapper that translates the waves native format into a "virtual VST plugin". If the plugins were actually written as native VST plugins, they probably would work.

Edius X has officially added support for the waveshell.dll translation.

Bern has explained the waveshell wrapper perfectly. WAVES plugin support started in EDIUS X. That's why I said I thought it was an under appreciated addition.

Waves plugins are well engineered, easy to use, and they just work. You can build a great plugin library with essential tools, that are reasonably priced.

Agreed. They are good and we use them extensively in our DAW systems. The issue is that a lot of NLE systems were never designed for compatibility with the waveshell.dll wrapper, not just Edius. Now that Edius X has support for it and the automatic latency compensation though, it is a whole new world for audio in Edius

Has anyone compared RX9 Advanced to those Waves plugins?
I have RX9 Advanced but the price difference is huge compared to Waves, I have highly respect for Waves and their plugins that I have been using a lot in audio productions but never tested their cleanup tools.
