  • Titler Pro save as

Hi all, I have mentioned this a while back but is there a logical way to do a "Save as" in Titler pro 7. In Quick titler or VisTitle its just a case of hitting 'Save as" or Äuto save as" and a new title is created totally independant of the previous title.

Is it just me or is the process in Titler Pro 7 slow and clunky? I can't understand why I can't just place a template in the Edius timeline, make 20 copies of it and then do the above. But no you have to open up Titler Pro everytime, save as and name the title (time wasted here again), then hit the X button top right and it asks you to save again (more fiddle time). I am using the version that comes with Edius X or does one need to upgrade to the full version in order for something so simple to work seamlessly? Sorry to sound like a stuck record on this one but this is 2021 not 1981.
Is anyone on here using the full version? The demo does look impressive. https://newbluefx.com/products/titli...J5lGFnEogv_4DQ

I liked Vistitle for ease of use but the templates were more often then not very daggy and dated. I'm not one that wants to learn yet another program. I just want to drag and drop and maybe do basic tweaks.

    Thanks

Look at the first screen shot. In the videos I did for the free version on TP5 for Edius, I showed how to save a title. It is the same in the free version of TP7 for Edius.

You haven't mentioned your system specs. TP7 is GPU driven. The better the GPU and CPU, the better the performance.
I have the Ultimate version and it allows a title, or template, to be imported directly into Edius X. I still save a copy of my project TP titles in a folder independent of the
project folder. This is for safety. The entry level full version was on sale a couple of weeks ago for $99 US. It is currently $299 US.
You have to determine if that function is worth the price.

I still prefer Vistitle for speed and ease of use. As far as the templates, Videostar has added 6 free new volumes of templates. Also, and I have said this to you before, make your own templates. Learn how to use the program as opposed to replacing items in a template. It's actually easy after you learn the program. That is also true for TP7.

Just to add a little help if I can. Making your own templates is technically easy, but it's often the esthetics of the title that often escapes people. Just like any creative element, you probably want to use complementary colour pallets in the creation if it is for branding/setting a look, and often less is more. Clean and simple is often better than busy and cluttered.

Here is a link to a little article entitled "How to Make Lower Third Titles That Don’t ****"
Lower thirds are powerful tools for the video editor. Color, font, position, and movement are all in play.So how do you make an L3 that doesn't suck?

Edius WG 9.55.9157, various 3rd party plugins, VisTitle 2.9.6.0, Win 7 Ultimate SP1, i7-4790K @ 4GHz with HD4600 GPU embedded, MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard, 32GB Kingston HyperX RAM, nVidia GTX Titan Black 6GB GPU, Matrox MX02 Mini MAX, Corsair 750W PSU, Corsair H110i GT Water Cooler, Corsair C70 case, 8TB Internal RAID 0/stripe (2x4TB Seagate SATAIII HDD's, Win7 Software stripe), 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD, Pioneer BDR-207D, Dual 1920x1080 monitors (one on GTX and one on Intel HD4600).

If creativity is an issue, go to one of the providers of lower thirds for AE and just look at them for ideas. Then try to bring them to life in Vistitle.
This is where knowledge of the program comes into play.

I agree, one should take the time to learn which admittedly I have not done. But I am still yet to see a stack of good looking titles out of Vistitle. The demo here is nothing short of dated looking titles.

Is there a YouTube video or samples anywhere of good looking templates from the 2.9 version?

New Blue Titler Pro is perhaps more contemporary?

Thanks for your help on this topic.

UPDATE: I have since spent a bit more time in Titler Pro (Edius X version) and discovered the "tick" button for saving and its sped up the process somewhat. I have also found some templates I really like.

I'd be keen to hear what the update version is like and how many more templates there really are. Is it worth the expense?

I wish there was an äuto save as"feature like in the other title programs. Again one less step and less fiddle factor.

          Thanks

I have 31 categories of templates in my Ultimate version included with FX360. The full version allows you to import .nbtitles directly into Edius X.
A folder is now created in the project folder: see screen shot.
Is it worth it? That depends if you think you will benefit from the features for $299. The fact they had a sale
last month for the basic full version for $99 tells me a new version is not far off. You might want to wait, unless you absolutely need
            some of the features.

You could go to NB and download a trial for the full version. https://newbluefx.com/products/titling/titler-pro/

Great information Jerry, yeah I might hang out a little but I have learnt a little recently and I am warming to it as my go to Titler program.

              Thanks.
