It's still missing a software h.265 option and the equivalent of MW7 NVENC setup options for H.264 and H.265.
I guess I can't complain over $22 for the upgrade.

Maybe they will add these features with an update. Feedback to them has proven to have an impact over the years.

I have the full version that I prefer as it can be used by itself for some things as it has a very capable editor included. I use it to trim and convert interlace files to progressive with some correction as it will correctly convert 60i to 60P. Same for MPEG2 as I find it more capable than plugin so export HQX and use the full version.

I am yet to figure out how to convert i to P with TMW7

I loaded a 50i HQX file and selected HQX 25p progressive output and the resulting file is shown by EDIUS and Mediainfo as upper field interlaced

You need to use the deinterlacing filter. There are various options but since I want to retain the temporal motion I deiniterlace to 60P so selection is for double frame rate as in the attached.

yes, I used the filter and it fails when the output is Grass Valley HQX

The figures I posted are exactly what I use. I am in the process of converting a lot of Bluray's to save as h265 and I first convert the m2ts to HQX to go to Resolve for some touchup of colour and final encode to h265. After your post,to satisfy me that it would work from HQX to HQX I did this from EDIUS, interlaced project Bluray m2ts to HQX, then TMPGenc to deinterlace to HQX. Mediainfo, EDIUS, Vegas and Resolve all see the output as progressive 59.94P. File was ski trip 42 minutes.

I think I may have found the issue your having Anton. I always deinterlace to maintain temporal motion so 59.94i should deinterlace to 59.97P missing fields are interpolated. So selecting double frame rate which works fine. If however one delinterlaces from 59.94i to 27.97P one has to select the base field and I expect this selection is then carried over for HQX. I confirm this happens. If you deinterlace to double frame rate and then put that file in a slower frame rate project all works. I have not come across this as I stay with 59.97 for everything.

EDIT; Just repeated test using Cineform codec for top field selection and all now report progressive so this may be HQX issue. Same for XAVC

yes, and this is exactly my issue, I am trying to make 25p out of 50i

I will try this later in TMW5 as I am sure it has worked in the past

I have TMPGenc4 on my other PC and it has the same issue with HQX files. Others work correctly.

the problem is I need 10bit 25p and HQX is the only real choice out of TMW7
