  • What do you use for lower third slide in titles, + animations?

    Hey guys,
so because of covid I am wanting to go back to why I originally bought camera gear to begin with back in 2006.. which is when I really wanted to persue youtube.. (but after investing $4800 in my first camera plus mics/tripods then I got sucked into a business that would zap all my time doing videos for clients instead of myself)

I want to have cool and fun lower third title animations slide in, and the titles and animations look kind of 3d

I want to be able to animate interesting titles and stuff.

    1) are there any good tutorials that show the most advanced techniques that can be done with just Edius 9 Pro alone?

    2) Are there plugins for Edius similar to how Premiere has After Effects? is there anything like that for Edius?

    3) Any 3rd party software you suggest

    4) I do have the lifetime digitaljuice subscription which I think Senior Dave suggested to me before.. I originally wanted that for light leak overlays....
I think they do lower thirds but I havn't had a chance to browse and figure out how they work

    5) I have not used lower third items before and am not 100% sure how they work, I assume they pull onto the timeline as semi transparent?

    thanks in advance guys

ps yes I paid $67 for Viddyoze and am trying to decide today if I'm going to keep or ask for a refund

If you want the titles to be local, meaning from within Edius, you have several options.

    1. Quicktitler. There are now templates for the native titler:
    https://www.thecuttingroom.gr/ediuseffects/

    2. Vistitle http://www.hkvisdom.com/index.php/product/vistitle/
There are 3rd party templates available for Vistitle as well.

    3. Titler Pro from New Blue. There is a free version based on TP5 available for Edius 9 users. The current version is TP7.
    https://newbluefx.com/products/titling/titler-pro/

    4. Heroglyph 4.0 https://www.prodad.com/Titling-Lower...9789,l-us.html

    5. If you have Continuum, you can use the Boris Title Studio by way of the OFX bridge. https://borisfx.com/products/continuum/
Scroll Down to the Title Studio Video

The best outside option would be After Effects and purchasing templates from Motion Array https://motionarray.com/browse?q=low...ects-templates

There is a learning curve for each of these options. If you already have AE and are familiar with After Effects, that might be the best way for you to go. Then all you would have to do is buy the templates, modify them for your needs, and then export.

This is not the first time I have given you this list. Asking the same question over and over and expecting a different answer is a waste of time.

I use Vistitle to do all my titles. Vistitle is extremely versatile and makes great looking titles. I bought vistitle when it was first introduced and have upgraded as new versions became available. The tutorials from Jerry that I recently bought helped me to understand Vistitle much better and saved me so much time in making my titles that the purchase price is way too inexpensive. Being a hobbyist I don't use Edius or Vistitle everyday so all the steps are not ingrained in my memory. Being able to quickly reference to the tutorials speeds things up immensely for me and I find myself trying new looks without spending huge amounts of time trying to stumble through on my own.
