  • Vistitler 2.8 application windows are extremely small inside Edius 9

I run Edius 9.51, just purchased Vistitler 2.8 and installed.

Everything works except the Vistitler window pops up and I cannot read anything , fonts are too small. See the attached image.

My screen resolution is 3840x2160 on MY BENQ 4K monitor and EDIUS looks fine.

When I open Vistitler outside of Edius, it looks perfect, the resolution is appropriate, the fonts are big enough. I tried to play with the DPI settings of the app but no luck.

    Any suggestions?

I don't think the vistitle interface has been updated to allow desktop scaling for users who use UHD PC screens

I personally would never us a UHD screen as a PC mon because it breaks many dialogues, not just vistitle

maybe in another 5 years they all catch up

      Anton,

Vistitler works perfectly outside of Edius, just cannot use it when I launch it from Edius. It has to be a simple setting.

I have been using this monitor for 4 months and it is breathtaking. Also for editing. My one and only problem is Vistitler now.

you can drag the slider at the bottom right to five you larger thumbnails but the text will remain small

maybe they will fix that in a update to allow desktop scaling inside EDIUS

Can you manually resize the initial Vistitle screen to full screen?
If so, do it and make another screen shot.
Do screen shots of these panels.

            Attached are the screen shots.

I maxed out the slider in the right bottom corner but the font size is still super small.

This issue is seen in multiple 3rd party plugins, especially when the Scale has been changed in the Windows display settings panel from the 100% setting.

In your case you can read the text on the Edius interface, but not the Vistitle interface. I'm sending your screen shots to Bejing for them to look at.
There are no promises or time frames as to if and when a fix will come.

My highest resolution monitor is a 30" Apple Cinema Display at 2560x1600. Until this is completly hashed out, I'll hold of on
              a 4K computer monitor.. I do have a 4K external output Display.

there is 0.0000% value in using a 4K screen as a PC mon when scaling has to be changed to something like 200%, may as well use a HD screen to begin with because you have no more screen real estate than a HD screen when increasing scaling

I am also using 2560x1600 on a 30" Dell and have no issue reading text at 100% (default) scaling

The issue unfortunately looks to be normal for Vistitle on screens with 4k resolution. We have notified the QA department of Vistitle of this issue before.

                        My prayers have been answered

Vistitle came out with an update Version 2.8.5.0.

                        That fixed the problem.

They also contacted me right after my post and assured me that the update was coming out soon.

                        Sweet!

                        Thanks for all the comments.

Having got my bits burnt before, how do I preserve my custom imports into the VT library, when updating. I cannot work out where they are stored.

Delving deeper- right clicking the custom imports (or anything in the library)- reveals their location (with explore) within the complex VT libraries. Manually moving them and noting their locations seems to be the only way of retaining them when updating, which requires a full uninstall...and of course, manually moving them back after.
