  • Missing Edit Controller

I use the Shuttle Pro2 edit controller. It suddenly stopped working. I re-installed it and the controller is active - but Edius is not responding to it. Is there a setting I need to change? I use Edius pro7.

Having just reprogramed my SP on my new laptop for my prompter, I would check that Edius is selected when you click on the SP icon on the Task Bar. Then check that Edius is showing in Global settings and that the keys are still programmed.

Thanks. Opening the Shuttle pro Config icon... Application setting is Global Settings. I changed it to Canopus Edius but the APPLY button is not available - just says CLOSE. (?)

You may need to reset to the source for Edius application. Open Shuttle Control panel, select Canopus EDIUS then in the options menu underneath click then select change target application and then select the correct source for EDIUS app.

          It's still not connecting.

I changed the Contour Shuttle Applic Setting to Canopus Edius then clicked Options button - Change Target Application. I opened Program Files - Grass Valley - Edius 7 folder - then clicked on Edius (application). I was then able to click Apply and OK to close the Config control panel. But the Shuttle Pro still doesn't respond. When I reopen the Config control it's returned to Global Settings again!

          Any other suggestions?

Are doing this as an admin? You can try to elevate by choosing run as admin.

If I recall correctly, the config utility follows whatever window has focus. Opening the config means it has focus and shows global. Opening Edius means it has focus, but if that brings edius to the foreground and covers the shuttle config window, you will not see it change it's status, and then trying to bring it to the foreground will once again change the focus to itself.

Hide your edius bins and/or pallets and position the config utility in the area that they used to occupy. You should then be able to see if the config utility is following the change in the window focus when you bring edius to focus.

Whenever you open the Shuttle control panel it will be in Global settings. It assumes you want to change something. I just checked with EDIUS running and my shuttle working I opened the control panel and it comes up in global settings. Close and Shuttle is still working in EDIUS since I did not change anything. I have EDIUS, Vegas and Resolve all set up on my PC and which ever is loaded and has focus the Shuttle will work. For any with focus I open shuttle control panel it comes up in Global settings. You will need to shut down the application you have assigned and then load again for the shuttle to pickup that the assigned application is running and to load the presets.

                  Problem with Contour ShuttlePro2

I use the Shuttle Pro2 edit controller. It suddenly stopped working. I uninstalled and re-installed it. The controller is active - but Edius is not responding to it. I open the Configuration box and it's set to Global Settings. I change it to Canopus Edius but it doesn't let me Apply the setting. It always returns to Global Settings. My custom button settings are still in place but none of the buttons work. The controller is connected to Windows 7.
                  Any ideas?
                  Thank you!

I added a post Third Party Products so others may see it. Problem with that? I still don't have a solution.

Are you saying the Shuttle doesn't work when EDIUS loads or that when you open the Shuttle control panel it comes up as Global Settings ? If it does not load are you sure you pointed to the correct EDIUS .exe application file in Program Files. Everything needs to be shut down and reloaded to work.

I originally posted it under Editing Forum. Then I realized it should probably be posted under Third Party Products, so I re-posted it. Was the original post moved here? The problem has not been resolved yet.

                              Thanks.
