    Thank you Hans

Interesting that the company is not called Videostar anymore.

I might have a problem moving to the digital version as I don't have a purchase invoice for the plug-ins. They were a "gift" from Videostar some years ago, as I had been testing some of them.

I don't think I ever had a Log-in with Videostar for downloads. Is this new? I went to reigister, but Firefox said it was not a secure connection....should I be concerned?

*Note: HK Visdom is a subsidiary of BJ Videostar, which cooperates with Videostar to deal with overseas business.

It's a new HTML5 website with a sign in and a newsletter. Not a big deal.
They also have the plugin pack for $99 on the website. That is a good price.
      http://www.hkvisdom.com/index.php/product/vistitle/

The main difference with 2.8 is that it has all 3 versions Edius, Premiere, and Avid included in the one installer. Previous versions required the user to uninstall the prior NLE version and then install the new NLE version each time you would use a different NLE and Vistitle.
This included separate dongles for each NLE.
This was a big PITA. I have all 3 NLE versions and have to update 5 dongles on two machines.

So the fact that Firefox says it is not a secure website is nothing to worry about?

As I said I do have a legitimate version of the plugins, just that I don't have an invoice to prove it. I will have to search for the original email from Videostar, which must have been years ago.

I was addressing your previous post on having to sign in.
Each browser may show different warnings, or nothing at all.
If you trust Firefox, then act accordingly.

Many web hosters only issue SSL security certificates if there is an online store. I personally would only be concerned if it is still not secure after logging into the "store" or your account if personal info or financial info (i.e. credit card numbers) are stored or transmitted. It should not be a concern for just general web browsing.

current Vistitle dongle users can get a free upgrade to 2.8 and can keep and use the dongle version on a different PC (finding the serial for prove is easy unlike finding the EDIUS serial)
Add 150 sets of themes, lower-third, name tags, and layout templates.VisTitle 2.8 installer supports both dongle and digital serial number. Please choose according to your license form.

I have updated to 2.8 but it only worked by choosing dongle verification, it failed to accept my serial, so I have to keep using the dongle until I hear back from Beijing with a solution

                            A couple of questions:

I only use Edius on one PC, what are the pro's and con's of keeping the dongle?

I cannot find the plugin invoice. Back in 2012, I upgraded to Vistitle 2. I seem to remmber there was a special bundle to include all plugins. Can anyone tell me if that was the case? If so would my serial number indicate this?

the plugin invoice should be in your email program, in my case I move all emails with serials to a special folder called "software licenses"

no harm done using the dongle version of 2.8, it is what I use right now

Beijing sent me a replacement serial and it also failed, so they are back at the drawing board
