  • Best alternative to adobe motion graphic templates

I took the plunge and disconnected from the subscription-based model of adobe. However, one thing they recently added that I thought was incredible as a timesaver was the motion graphics templates in Premiere. I was able to add nice text reveals, things that looked beautiful and professional with just a few clicks. Right now I'm back to plain old white text with Edius.

Is there any affordable alternative to the motion graphic templates (powered by After effects I believe on the backend) that bring beautiful text reveal templates to Edius? I know Newblue and others have some types of titling software, though it's pretty expensive to buy separately. I'd like something more template based that helps generate text reveals what you see in this simple test video I did.

I know you can create some of this stuff manually if you have the talent/time, but I was hoping for a solution that has beautiful smooth reveals like that. The limited alternatives I've seen had much less ramped motion that made them less smooth and mostly look stylistically several years behind the times.

There are several other Titlers you can use with EDIUS. Vistitle, Titler Pro, Heroglyphh, Bluff Titler. The last one is very template based. I personally use the first one.

newblue titler pro 6 can now accept after effects projects templates or something to that. goto the newblue website and check out the info on it.

I think after effects is one of the best ways to create titles etc. just export it out with alpha channel and place it onto the edius video track.

        I agree with that.

Why would you suggest AE after he just stated he had ended his subscription with Adobe?

I used to do the AE route. After I got Vistitle, which is realtime, the exporting of a title to Edius was wasted.
I've been able to adapt a few AE title templates for use in Vistitle.

Yeah But Vistitles has not been really updated since many years, and I find it quite expensive.
Titler pro is always promising, but when you use it, you quicky understand it's not. Slow, buggy, lot of crashes, I wondering if someone really use it with no issue.

              Hieroglyph and Bufftitler, well...
A CS6 After Effects licence will let you do more than expected.

Seems like this is a gap in the market. I could really care less about fancy transitions, ok with cuts and dissolves. However, motion graphics templates are pretty amazing and brought professional titling without spending time building in AE.

I'll have to keep my eyes open. Biggest thing I miss from migrating from Adobe besides pasting keyframes for audio.

                Appreciate the feedback!

I never suggested it .. I said "I think after effects is one of the best ways to create titles etc"...

I have titler pro... and it great tool but yes..its a little buggie.

its a shame that Edius and after effects don't work together like the way premiere and AF does. Would make Edius much more Better and stronger as an editor.

Looking through the examples, the only one that seems even close is Titler Pro 6. I think I'll have Titler Pro 5 with the Edius 9 update, so maybe I can figure out the upgrade price to 6. Dang those templates are expensive! I'll have to see if I can successfully pull in those motion graphics template after effect files I have sitting idle if I try out Titler Pro 6. It might solve the better text reveals I wanted.

Bluff and Heroglyphh... wow. Exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Felt like I was stepping backward in time.
                    thanks for the tips!
