  • Error when consolidating project with Titler Pro titles

    Hi,

I am trying to consolidate an Edius Project where I have created titles using Titler Pro 5.

An error message will show up with following text:
"The clip that cannot copy the file exists.
    [Unspecified error]
    Title04
    Title10
    ...
    Do you wish to continue?
    "

From what i gather, Edius will not consolidate the titles created with Titler Pro within Edius.
    Hope anybody can help me.

    Thanks.

Consolidate does not work with any third party addons, as well as quicktime files

it is best to avoid Consolidate

      Hi, thanks for your help.

I wanted to use Consolidate to create a backup of my project. What would you suggest I can use to backup my project, considering I´m using third party titles?

      Kind regards.

I back up all my projects by simply copying the Project to another internal or hotswap external drive

Every project I do has all its assets stored inside that folder

when I start a new project, I give it a name and right away click save, these creates the folder structure

now I use Win Explorer to create several sub folders (as needed) inside that project folder

        Export
        HD Clips
        Stills
        Music
        Script
        Voice

by simply copying and pasting one single main folder, the whole project and all assets are backed up in one operation

I call it "tidy house keeping"

I wonder, if I just copy and paste all the project files to let´s say a different location like an external hard drive or NAS, will it work ok if I try to open the project from that new location?

          thanks again for your help.

If you move or rename the original file location, the files will show offline and you can direct the relinking to the other location if so desired.

The way TP4 and TP5 store their files is outside of the Edius sphere of inclusion.
Vistitle is the only 3rd party titler that saves titles to the title folder within the current project folder.

Now, whether that will also incorporate into a consolidation, is anybody's guess at this point.

New Blue titles will not import directly into the Edius bin. You have to do that through the TP GUI. You can store the title within the Title folder of the current project, but once again, I don't know if that will carry during a consolidation.

The easiest thing is to save the title to a default location and run from there.
