  • PluralEyes 4.1

    Hi,
PluralEyes 4.1 is awesome. Syncs up clips and audio instantly for import into Edius 7.5! Worth the price.

    Thanks,
    Dwayne Gitter

Not all in the garden is rosy...

If you happen to be given 25p and 50p or any other mixed framerate footage, PluralEyes refuses to output an xml file because Edius, it states, is picky and doesn't like mixed frame rates.

So this is useless if you shoot high framerates for slo mo for example

Oddly enough, Premiere Pro is perfectly happy with this.

So Edius "Edit Anything" but not as much "Anything" as Premiere Pro appears to be the new maxim here.

Anyone know how to get around this issue?

    apart from use PPro?

    Paul :-)

p.s the import to Edius is a PPro xml - just testing, as you can see its a mess, not surprising.

If you want to sync clips with different framerates or you don't like how EDIUS splits the stereo tracks into separate left and right tracks when importing an XML project, you could try my workflow using sync markers, (my converter creates milliseconds markers for accurate conversion and is suitable for all framerates) https://ediusireland.wordpress.com/
The workflow extracts the data from Pluraleyes XML, deletes duplicated timecodes (you can't have markers with the same timecode), and creates sync markers (the markers names will be same as the video and audio files) for the video and audio clips to be placed to the prefer timeline tracks at the correct sync timecode.
It might sound a slow process, but with practice, it can be done fast. You can make the edit-line jump to the marker on the timeline by finding the marker in the list and double clicking it or use my AutoHotkey script here https://goo.gl/lR2FKc for super speed.
You will sometimes find clips out of sync by 1 or 2 frames because both Pluraleyes and EDIUS timelines work only with frames instead of milliseconds making the framerate conversions less accurate, e.g. rounding up or down the decimal calculation to a complete frame. Sorry for the late reply or the late uploading of the tutorial of my workflow to create sync markers from a PluralEyes XML file for an EDIUS timeline that has different framerate or mixed framerates.

You are welcome Nariman. Sorry, I was late with it, I was ill. Maybe you can let me know if this workflow works for you too.
