This has a lot of similar effects that are in Sapphire and BCC.
Plus, the program's 'bang for the buck' is quite welcome.
Download the trial and give it a shot.

Just trying out the trial version on a single HD clip, but it is not playing in real time. Tried several fX..so far all the same.

      Is this normal?

I also notice that not all the FX are compatible with Edius....but which ones?

Not every NLE gets the same effects.
As John says, if you're running Workgroup you can drop the resolution to 1/2 and they will work in RT.

Here is what is included and the ones that are not included:
              https://hitfilm.com/store/hitfilm-ignite

Go through each NLE and you notice similar non compliant effects.

I have 132 effects within my package. The Rain effect puts Boris Red to shame.
Also, all of you guys who have asked how to do the Star Wars Crawl, the Sci-Fi Title Crawl is the fastest and easiest way
to do this effect bar none. Including Vistitle.

Thanks for the link to what is included, I had missed that on their website.

Half res plays in real time on my PC. Is this down to my CPU or GPU?

I strongly suggest everyone that has been looking for more effects take a look at this plugin. It has a lot of things for the price. Plus they have been very good to work with and I hope we can keep this relationship going. I hope you support this plugin.

As a Boris RED owner, what does this bring that would tempt me? Many of the effects are the same.

If it had some titling activity that would be a plus as I only have Quick Titler.

The major difference is that they are native plug ins. Boris Red has better keyframing, motion tracking and titling options. If you have neither HitFilm Ignite is a lot cheaper.

The big advantage is the native integration in Edius.
All plugins should work like that.

Too bad that watermarks are too prominent, it's kinda difficult to estimate render quality.
Anyway, I think it's really nice addition to Edius.

I agree with the watermarks, it's difficult to fully know what the effect looks like.
I'll be buying it though :) Trying to decide if I should splash out for the full Pro version (effects that don't work as a plugin are usable in the stand alone app if you don't mind rendering a new file from that app for use in EDIUS.
