Are you not able to accomplish what you need using the "Display Timecode" option when printing the file? You can choose which timecode (source or sequence) is used in User Settings.
Does anyone know of a plugin for Edius that will generate and display (al la FCP7) timecode for clips
Thanks
Alan
Yes as THoff says it's there and in settings you can choose whether to output with SOURCE or SEQUENCE timecode. You can also adjust the position. You then just have to tick the export TC box.
Thanks to both. Yes I know and regularly use the BITC facilities in the exporter - a lot of my work involves communicating with remote individuals. What I'm after is more control over the TC generated and also a label would be nice without having to the resort of CG.

More or less retired now. Still on the Essex(UK) coast. Edius 8.2wg all sorts of other, more or less redundant kit - production & Post.
VisTitle can do the job very good!
I use it in a moment when e.g. the 24p reference TC should be shown on
a 25p DVD screener besides the 25p based timcode and the frame count!
All TC versions are created in VisTitle and they are embedded in a VisTitle
template. The start time, color and font can be easily defined, a graphic
can be added easily.

Excellent thank you. I have VisTitle but it hadn't occurred to me to use it for this. Does the New Blue offer any advantages that would justify the purchase?

If you don`t see other reasons to buy elements, no!

I agree. I bought it specifically for the superior Chroma Key - on a Special Offer and it comes with lots of "no way" stuff that you will never use....until one day you want to...(and have probably forgotten it was there).
Given you can do what you need with VisTitle great. That said look at the NewBlue demos...(there may even be free trials) and wait for another round of Special Offers.

Like Andreas and Dave pointed out, it really comes down to your needs. I always recommend our free trials so you can make an educated decision:
