  • Softel Swift Create V8

    Hello,
I need a solution for subtitle in Edius 8.
Can Softel Swift Create V8 is the solution for me?
I have word files of text line that I need to sync to clips and
render them to MP4 with the subtitle built-in.
If I would buy Your new software, Can it match my needs?

Currently, the only subtitle solution for Edius is Vistitle. You can import properly formatted text and SRT's directly into Vistitle. Adjustments can be made or titles created.
If you want the subtitles on all of the time, you can export the video and subtitles with this setup.
However, if you want to be able to toggle the subtitles on and off, you will need a 3rd party program. It will also depend on the web player that will be used.

The device you mentioned is more of a Broadcast tool. Price could be an issue.
I didn't see any mention of Edius use along with this device. I would contact your local Grass Valley agent to discuss price and compatibility.

Jerry is correct - for sub-titling go for VisTitle. The engineering team in Kobe have the SDK for Softel Swift but it's some way off being productized with EDIUS.

If you have Vistitle and want to included 'soft' subtitles for use in VLC, all you would need is Handbrake to create an .mp4 that subtitles can be toggled on and off. The player is key for delivery.
