  • NB Titler Pro 2 in OFX install

I have now had a chance to use the NB Titler Pro 2 included in the OFX installation for Edius 8.1 WG

I am very disappointed to see that the colour of the GUI is just as bad as the Edius one. I can hardly see the text below the FX. This cannot be adjusted as far as I know?

Is this an Edius issue or NB...who do I complain to?

I don't think this version has a standalone version. The legacy version 2 that I had, did have that.

I am still in contact with NB Support, so I will raise the issue with them.

John, I have TP4 installed and it has quite a few more bells and whistles.
Under the View header look to see if you have these options.
        TP2 interface changes.pngTP4 Library.png

In the original version of TP2 there weren't any color options so I don't know if you will have those. The color changes in NB were the result of requests from users. You are getting an updated version of TP2 mixed with some of the code from TP4.
The original GUI on my large, crisp, and bright monitors was way to rough on my eyes. I prefer the darker color in both Edius and TP4.
The dividing lines in Edius still need work. That will help with the appearance and ease of use.

Thank you Jerry, I had overlooked the option for "skins". I don't think that was in the previous version 2.

I can now make the GUI lighter, but for my aged eyes, I still find the text under the icons difficult to read.

Are you finding these OK for you?

I don't have a problem because of my monitors. I do see how it could be an issue though. To be fair, it was the same in the original TP2.
Aside from the color issue, is the program working for you otherwise?

I haven't done much more than check it is there, as I only moved from Edius 7 to Edius 8.1WG a couple of days ago.

I have found an issue which I might open a new thread for.

If I close Edius, it won't re-open during the same session on the PC. I have to reboot. This sort of thing happened some years ago, but I can't remember what the solution was.

Yes, Edius was still in the Processes tab and I closed it manually.

Jerry, do you think this is a NB issue?

Apart from the new OFX install, I did what was suggested and copied the contents of the Edius 7 plug-in folder across to Edius 8. These included some NB Essentials.

You didn't get the Edius 8 installers for the other effects when you got the title installer?
While the effect will carry over, which I'm not sold on, having an installer that is for the exact version is better.

I do believe that is an NB issue. TP2 was notorious for the hang issue. Get all of the new installers, and inform NB of the hang issue.

After uninstalling all NB products reboot. Make sure sll of the plugins have been removed from the Edius 8 plugin folder.
Then as a test, install your new TP2 version, the one without the bridge, and reboot. Open Edius and see if after using TP2 and closing you get a hang upon closing.

                        Thank you Jerry,

I am in contact with Caleb at NB. I have asked him if there are installers for the legacy products. I don't want to give up having some of the Essentials range...or have to buy new ones if I can help it.

I have yet to tell Caleb about the hang issue, as I only noticed it a few hours ago.

You say install the new TP2 version, how do I do that as it came with the Bridge. Is it now part of my NB account?

Hi Jerry, no Caleb gave me a serial number....I assume to turn the TP2 in OFX Bridge from a trial into a full version.

I have now tried this but it doesn't work!! So I will have to go back to NB Support. I thought this was going so well until today :(
