DVD Authoring Software for Replication

I have read the forums and know which Authoring software are recommended. However, can someone from personal experience please confirm which of this Authoring software is capable of DVD and BD authoring to replication standards? I once sent a DVD master for replication that I authored with DVD Architect Pro. However, the replication plant informed me that they could not use it because it contains many errors. I immediately sent them the same project authored with Edius and that was accepted. Ever since I am using Edius for the authoring of my DVDs, however recently I started to receive feedback in the reviews from customers stating that the DVD they received could not play, or at least only the warning and intro played. I then discovered that the problem is that people who lost their player’s remote could not navigate the menus and could thus not change from the “Logo” to the “Play” button. All my DVDs start with a copyright warning and a logo and then the menu by which the DVD can be accessed. In Edius, the first play clip has a button on the main menu, which is really an embarrassment. Because it must be there, I title it “Logo”. Unfortunately, this button is also the button that is active when the main menu appears. One cannot even change that. I thought that would be corrected with the release of Edius 7, however even now with the release of Edius 8, the DVD tool is still not upgraded. Thus I urgently need to buy authoring software, but I need to know that it is replication compatible. I also prefer, if possible, to have software that can simultaneously burn the BD version of the master as well. Please advise.

I have used Encore for DVD replication. I created a master disc that had been completely vetted and by burning at 1x, reduced the possibilities of errors. This was accepted by the replication house.
It also depends on what type files and how the audio is encoded.

BluRay is a tad different. I would suggest contacting the replication house for authoring programs that they would suggest you use.

You will have to pay for licenses and this can get expensive. Once again, I would call a replication house and talk requirements and price before even looking for software.
Your other option could be using a Bluray duplication house. This would be cheaper, but reliability would depend on your software used and the quality of the final master disc.

Hi Naas
I am based in Cape Town area , been use-sing TMPGEnc Authoring Works for the last few years now , And yet to have any problems with making any DVD or Bluray and then sending the master ISO or disc for Duplication .

For duplication and replication, I have used the same program with no issue, I have been in contact with Naas.
