  • Anyone tried NB Titler Pro 4 yet?

I have Vistitle 2.5 and NB Titler Pro 2. Each has it's uses. I see the special upgrade offer is on now for Titler Pro 4 @ $99.

Anyone tried it and have any feedback yet?

There are improvements in that it now caches titles on exiting TP UI to give RT playback in Edius and extra import options as well as adding certain OFX FX like Sapphire to titles
but there are Edius crashes on exit issues on occasions. This problem had gone away in Titler Pro 3 but appears to have returned in Titler Pro 4
Its a good price compared to full price ( possibly this is the basic package) and hopefully NB will fix the issue.

The one big thing that I can say about TP4 is that when you return to the Edius timeline the titles will play in real time. That is.....if you don't have a 3rd party filter on the underlying clip. This means, even though the clip will play in real time as a stand alone clip on the Edius timeline, TP4 will cause both to choke on playback. That might not be the case with a 5960X and 980ti. My [email protected] and 780 OC exhibited this.
In order to get the two clips to play in RT either you have to render the Title, which defeats the caching process, or you have to render the clip with the filter.

After you go through the entire process of creating your titles and saving the project in Edius, when you close Edius, you will get a crash of some sort. This is the same problem we had early on with TP1-3 and most New Blue filters. This was fixed. TP4 has brought it back.
As far as I know, this is being worked on.

There are other things as well. But, the $99 price tag could be the right price for some to overlook the issues. Let me say this though, this is the best version of Titler Pro out of the 4 versions. One feature that is promising is being able to add tabs for columns.

If you can get a trial, give it a try.

You mentioned Vistitle 2.5. Jack showed Vistitle 2.6 at NAB and that should be coming.
